Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeping involves tracking a business's financial transactions and maintaining accurate records. Closely with accountants, financial analysts, and other financial professionals to ensure that a company’s financial practices are sound and that its financial health is accurately represented Recording Transactions: Keeping accurate records of all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments. Managing Accounts: Maintaining ledgers and journals to track financial data. This includes updating accounts receivable (money owed to the business) and accounts payable (money the business owes). Reconciliation: Regularly reconciling bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Handling Payroll: Processing employee payroll, including calculating wages, withholding taxes, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. Invoicing and Collections: Creating and sending invoices to customers, tracking payments, and managing collections to ensure timely payment. Expense Tracking: Recording and categorizing business expenses, and ensuring they are correctly allocated to the appropriate accounts. Tax Preparation: Assisting with the preparation of tax returns by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
