Relevant qualifications: 

Degree in accounting, finance, or business or certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper).

Skills and Requirement  

Previous Bookkeeping Experience: Practical experience in a similar role, demonstrating familiarity with bookkeeping tasks and responsibilities.

Experience with Accounting Software: Hands-on experience with popular accounting software or ERP systems relevant to the industry.

Payroll Processing: Experience managing payroll, including tax withholdings, benefits, and compliance with employment laws.

Reconciliation Experience: Proven ability to reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and other financial documents.

Customer and Vendor Relations: Experience in managing invoicing, collections, and payments to and from customers and vendors.

Must have strong attention to detail, organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping involves tracking a business's financial transactions and maintaining accurate records. 

Closely with accountants, financial analysts, and other financial professionals to ensure that a company’s financial practices are sound and that its financial health is accurately represented

Recording Transactions: Keeping accurate records of all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.

Managing Accounts: Maintaining ledgers and journals to track financial data. This includes updating accounts receivable (money owed to the business) and accounts payable (money the business owes).

Reconciliation: Regularly reconciling bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Handling Payroll: Processing employee payroll, including calculating wages, withholding taxes, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Invoicing and Collections: Creating and sending invoices to customers, tracking payments, and managing collections to ensure timely payment.

Expense Tracking: Recording and categorizing business expenses, and ensuring they are correctly allocated to the appropriate accounts.

Tax Preparation: Assisting with the preparation of tax returns by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Maintaining Financial Systems: Using accounting software to manage and store financial data, and ensuring the system is up-to-date and functioning correctly.

Compliance: Ensuring that all financial records and practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.

Supporting Audits: Providing documentation and assistance during financial audits to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Budgeting: Assisting in the creation and monitoring of budgets to help control costs and guide financial planning.
