We are seeking an experienced Senior Appian Developer to join our Appian Development Team. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining innovative Appian applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Appian and application integrations coupled with experience working in agile, cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
DUTIES:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Technical Lead to join our Appian Development Team. This role will involve leading a team of talented engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining innovative Appian applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Appian, coupled with exceptional leadership skills to drive the team towards excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Line management of Appian development team, coaching and mentoring, performance management, recruiting and retaining talent.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the Appian development team. Oversee design, implementation and deployment of Appian-based application.
• Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards and quality assurance processes. Continuously enhance team ways of working and delivery practices.
• Work with Business teams and Business Analysts to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
• Provide design options and tradeoffs analysis for requested new functionalities, changes to existing functionalities, technical enablers and system improvements. That includes data modeling, modular application design, system integrations design.
• Design and develop the code on Appian, including complex Appian SAIL Code.
• Conduct reviews of existing solutions to identify gaps for resiliency, risk, and performance.
• Create unit tests for developed code, conduct peer code reviews. Supports e2e application testability.
• Create and manage application documentation.
• Assist support team in incident management and problem management for complex issues.
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 7-8 years delivering solutions using Appian.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering management experience, leading development teams.
• Experience with Appian 22x/23x/24x versions, Ability to write complex Appian SAIL Code (not just drag and drop).
• Strong understanding of Appian Objects such as Sites, Records, Reports, Tasks, News, Actions, Expression Rules, Constants, Query Rules, Web API, Interface Rules, CDTs, Process Models. Constants, Decisions, Integrations, Connected Systems, Data Stores, Groups, Feeds etc.
• Have worked on three or more end to end Appian BPM implementation (Design/Develop/Deploy/Package) Experience in building frameworks and BPM concepts.
• Sound Knowledge of Appian Process/Solution and Infrastructure Architecture (Infrastructure Architecture must include knowledge of Appian In-Memory KDB Engines, Sizing, Scaling Vertically/Horizontally)
• Expert in user interface development, engineering cross-browser, cross device compliant code Experience with application delivery using agile methodologies.
• Experience in integrating Appian applications with external systems (e.g. SNOWFLAKE, AWS, Veeva Suite, Oracle eBS) using various integration patterns (e.g. REST API and Connected Systems, ETL, PubSub). Experience in designing and developing REST APIs and working with XLM/JSON .
• Hands- On Experience in writing Appian Plugins (includes Smart Services, Function Plugins and Servlet Plugins),Connected Systems and Component UI Plugins (Preferred)
• Experience in developing RPA
• Experience in leveraging built-in AI and machine learning (ML) services to create interfaces, classify content, translate text, recognize image using connected systems, plug-ins, and smart services.
• Experience with Embedded SAIL
• Preferred experience with J2EE Design Patterns such as JSPs, Java Servlets, EJBs, JDBC etc.
• Experience with SQL coding using SQL server/MySQL/Maria DB
