Job Description

**Job Description:**


The Senior Merchandiser is a crucial role that involves managing operations, driving sales, and ensuring the smooth execution of orders. This role requires meticulous planning, keen aesthetic sense, effective communication, robust negotiation skills, and an understanding of the garment production process. The candidate will enhance customer experience, drive profitable sales, and extend our market reach.


**Key Responsibilities:**


*Operations:*

  • Plan, schedule, and execute orders as per established processes and timelines, coordinating with junior Merchants and Surat and Mill incharges for daily updates.

  • Track and manage product approvals at various stages, ensuring product specifications align with client requirements for an accuracy rate of 95% or higher.

  • Oversee timely receipt of payments from clients, maintaining a 100% on-time payment rate.

  • Manage product sampling and sourcing operations, ensuring over 95% of samples are received within stipulated deadlines.

  • Administer all correspondence through emails, ensuring 100% accountability and traceability of communication.

  • Confirm that all necessary approvals are physically received before order execution, maintaining 100% compliance.

  • Collaborate closely with the production team to guarantee smooth order execution.

  • Conduct regular market research to stay updated with industry trends and competitor offerings, using the insights to inform operational strategies.

  • Participate in key industry events to establish relationships and showcase our offerings.


*Sales:*

  • Propose new fabrics and costings in line with clients' requirements, aiming for an acceptance rate of 80% or more of the proposed items.

  • Liaise with exporters, brands, and buyers to cater to their fabric requirements for upcoming and in-season demands.

  • Strive to secure a monthly fabric order volume of 200,000 meters from exporters, ensuring a steady stream of business.

  • Provide prompt and adequate responses to all client inquiries, targeting an average response time of less than 24 hours.

  • Conduct weekly meetings with clients to identify new business opportunities.

  • Promote new fabrics, current season trends, our company, and our team to clients regularly, contributing to a 10% increase in new client acquisitions annually.

  • Ensure increased profitability by negotiating higher sales prices and reducing costs, aiming for a minimum of 10% year-on-year profit increase.

  • Offer a world-class buying experience to clients, aiming for an average client satisfaction rate of 90% or above.

  • Reach out to at least 20 clients daily to secure new orders and maintain relationships, ensuring 100% follow-up on potential leads.

  • Secure at least two new customers every month, contributing to a steady increase in the company's client base.

  • Maintain the Merchandiser V2 system of regular client calls, ensuring 100% adherence to the system.

  • Send out weekly emails about new items to clients, aiming for a 25% click-through rate.


*Additional Duties:*

  • Manage and train junior merchandising staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Develop and present monthly reports to senior management, providing insights on performance metrics, market trends, and improvement strategies.


  • **Skills Required:**

  • 1. Merchandising or relevant certification from a reputable institution.

  • 2. Proficiency in email writing, planning, and coordination.

  • 3. Strong skills in Google Sheets / Excel.

  • 4. Knowledge of garment making processes and experience in an export factory.

  • 5. Excellent English communication skills.

  • 6. Prior experience in a buying agency or an exports house (4+ years preferred).


**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • 1. Knowledge of process and flowchart procedures.

  • 2. Residing within a 20-30 minute commute from Kailash Hills.


**Working Hours:**

Monday to Saturday, 09:30 AM to 06:30 PM.


**Remuneration:**

Salary range: 15-30K per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.


**Test to Administer During Interview Process:**


  • Email Writing Test: The candidate will be asked to write emails on the following subjects:

  •     - Delay in shipment

  •     - Price increase of a present article

  •     - Company introduction

  • Color Matching of Fabrics: The candidate will be required to check color matching of Fabrics to Lab Dips, Lab Dips to Pantones, and Strike off to Pantones and provide comments.

  • Artwork Inspection: The candidate will be asked to inspect artwork, including placement, colors, designs, and provide comments.
