TIG and ARC Welder Job Description

Position: TIG and ARC Welder
Job Location: Pasamailaram, Hyderabad
Industry: Medical Device Manufacturing
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing or conveyor line operations

Roles and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Welding Operations:
• Perform TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and ARC (Shielded Metal Arc) welding processes to assemble and fabricate metal components.
• Ensure precise alignment of components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Conduct welding on various materials, primarily stainless steel, used in medical devices.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect welds to ensure they meet industry standards and company quality guidelines.
• Identify and rectify any defects or inconsistencies in the welding process.
• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) as required to ensure weld integrity.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Comply with regulatory standards and guidelines pertinent to medical device manufacturing.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Maintain welding equipment in good working condition.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs to the maintenance team.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including work completed, materials used, and inspection results.
• Prepare reports on welding performance and quality control findings.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding progress and issues.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and address any challenges.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of junior welders as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or conveyor line setting, with a focus on welding.
• Proficiency in TIG and ARC welding techniques.
• Strong understanding of welding principles and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of welding standards and quality control procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in TIG and/or ARC welding.
• Experience in the medical device manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.

Work Environment:

• The position involves working in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, fumes, and heat.
• Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and performing repetitive tasks.
• The role requires adherence to strict safety protocols to minimize risks.
