System Design and Implementation:

• Design and deploy scalable, highly available infrastructure systems (servers, networks, databases).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to determine system requirements and functionality.
• Evaluate new technologies, software, and hardware, and recommend solutions.

Systems Administration and Maintenance:

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and backups.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of IT systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues and provide technical support.

Network and Security Management:

• Maintain and configure networks, firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.
• Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
• Implement and oversee disaster recovery plans and security protocols.

Performance Optimization:

• Monitor system performance and ensure resources are used efficiently.
• Implement performance tuning, load balancing, and failover solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis of system failures and provide corrective actions.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
• Manage change control processes for system modifications.

Collaboration and Support:

• Provide support to development teams, ensuring that infrastructure meets application requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT projects.
• Train and mentor junior staff and provide user training for system-related tasks.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in system engineering, systems administration, or a similar role.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, CompTIA Network+, or similar are preferred.

• Proficient with Windows/Linux server environments.
• Familiar with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with network configuration and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Knowledge of security best practices (firewalls, encryption, data integrity).
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash).

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
