Job Title: Safety Inspector
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of lift installations, service operations, and maintenance activities.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and engineering to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Provide safety training and education programs for employees to enhance awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain records of safety-related incidents, inspections, and training activities to track performance and compliance.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, ensuring timely reporting and adherence to safety regulations and standards.
- Monitor industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes to recommend improvements to safety practices and policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager or in a similar role within the construction, manufacturing, or service industry, preferably with expertise in elevator or lift safety.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, ANSI, etc.) and industry standards applicable to elevator and lift operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
