Job Description

An optical fiber technician ,also known as a cable technician, cable installs, maintains, and repairs fiber optic cables this cables transmit data voice, and video over long distances using glass or plastic fibers and light pulses. fiber optic cables are important for high speed data transmission and communication infrastructure, and enterprise data center network This role involves tasks such as cutting and splicing fiber optic cables, conducting regular maintenance to ensure system efficiency, troubleshooting and resolving any fiber connectivity issues, and adhering to strict industry standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Install telecommunication cables, including in trenches and difficult-to-reach places

Inspect and repair fiber optic cables and other types of cables

Protect optical fiber from the elements and keep clean

Create networking plans, including layout, installation and testing

Troubleshoot lines and networking equipment

Check signal strength across all elements of the network
