Job Description

  • Reviewing patient records: Medical coder review medical records, including doctor's notes and lab results, to find key details.  
  • Assigning codes: Medical coder use standard coding systems to assign codes to each documented condition.  
  • Ensuring accuracy: Medical coder ensure that codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately.  
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers: Medical coder help healthcare providers improve their performance and outcomes by providing reliable data for analysis.  
  • Supporting quality improvement: Medical coder support data-driven decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.  
  • Improving patient care: Medical coder improve patient care and satisfaction by ensuring proper documentation and coding of services.  
  • Supporting claim processing: Medical coder ensure that patients receive proper reimbursement for their care by assigning codes to the services and procedures performed on patients.
