Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Staff member to join our hospital team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. This includes cleaning patient rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and common areas, as well as handling hazardous waste and following infection control protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, and equipment
- Change linens and restock supplies- Empty trash and recyclables, and handle hazardous waste
- Clean and disinfect high-touch areas, such as door handles, light switches, and countertops
- Follow infection control protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Use hospital-grade cleaning products and equipment
- Work efficiently to meet productivity standards
- Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure seamless service
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion in sensitive areas
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Basic English language skills
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow instructions and take initiative
- Knowledge of infection control practices and protocols (or willingness to learn)
- Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification in infection control or environmental services.
