Conduct fire extinguisher training using the training equipment.
Assisting the Fire Safety Team in producing training needs analysis information.
Assisting the Fire Safety Team in producing monthly/quarterly/annual reports on fire safety training
Responsible for the day-to-day management of fire safety training throughout both acute sites and community and ensuring the statutory requirements are met. Assisting the Fire Safety Team in developing and continually monitor and improve the fire prevention and response systems as appropriate through feed-back from staff attending training. This is particularly important in areas of high fire risk.
Undertaking Fire Evacuation Drills in non-patient buildings and desktop exercises in areas where evacuations are not acceptable due to the risk to patients.
This post has a responsibility for the effectiveness of comprehensive fire safety training programme, for all disciplines of staff.
To undertake regular Training Needs Analyses to maintain quality and standards of training.
To contribute to the production of the annual plan and annual report and implement actions which arise in relation to training.
To assist in the attainment of fire safety management.
Provide training as and when required, which could sometime be outside of normal working hours due to staff shift.
Assist with the negotiations via the Health & Safety Manager and compliance team to ensure to ensure that complies with Local Acts and regulations with regards to fire safety requirements.
To be able to keep calm under pressure and meet-time scales.
Ensure that training equipment, inventory of equipment, maintenance as required along with the purchase (via the Supplies Department) of necessary educational equipment is maintained.
