Job Description

Focus Area: Self-Help Groups (SHGs),MIS Management, and Field Work

Position Overview: The Federation Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of Self-Help Group (SHG) federations, ensuring efficient management of MIS systems, coordinating fieldwork activities, and supporting the overall growth and development of SHGs under the Chaitanya organization. The role requires a dynamic individual with strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills to strengthen SHG networks and drive sustainable community development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SHG Management and Capacity Building:
  •  Oversee the formation, nurturing, and capacity building of SHGs and their federations.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to strengthen SHG members’ financial literacy, governance, and leadership skills.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and processes within SHG operations
    • MIS (Management Information System) Work: 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of SHG and federation activities using the MIS system.
  • Generate reports on SHG performance metrics, loan disbursements, repayments, and other key indicators. 
  • Analyze MIS data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports to stakeholders and management
    • Field Work: 
  • Conduct regular field visits to SHGs and federations to monitor activities, provide guidance, and resolve issues. 
  • Facilitate community meetings, grievance redressal, and conflict resolution within SHGs.
  • Build strong relationships with local communities, government bodies, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration.
    • Financial Oversight:
  •  Monitor the financial health of SHGs and federations, ensuring proper utilization of funds and adherence to repayment schedules.
  • Support SHGs in linking with banks and other financial institutions for credit and other financial services.

  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Detail-oriented and organized in managing multiple tasks
  • 1-2 years of experience in SHG management, federation operations, or community development.
  • Proficiency in MIS tools and systems with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel extensively to rural areas for fieldwork.
  • Experience in microfinance, community mobilization, or livelihood programs is an added advantage.
