Electrical Engineer
Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline within a global business unit.
A recognized degree in an electrical engineering discipline, from an accredited college or university.
Broad progressive relevant work experience of over 6 years in basic & detailed engineering preferably in an EPC industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, process plants
Evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
Essential Job Duties:-
Monitors project controls within discipline.
Reviews design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and prepare comments & recommendations.
Assists in the preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.
Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon directness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
Performs electrical discipline work which involves the preparation, interpretation, or review of calculations, specifications, electrical layout plans including lighting and grounding, investigations, surveys, structures, systems, or equipment with relatively few complex features.
System design, including concept sketches and layouts
Testing of materials
Preparation of specifications and design calculations
Reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data by other engineers or by suppliers
Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports
Preparation or review of material quantity estimates
Uses engineering computer-aided design/computer-aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools
Prepares letters for replies to vendor correspondence.
Participates in one or more of the following:
Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL)
Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer-aided engineering (CAE)/computer-aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
Knowledge of Building Power Management which includes controlling and monitoring of Buildingâs mechanical and electrical equipment such as HVAC, lighting, power systems, fire systems, access control and security systems.
Equipment design and development
Review of 3D Model in S3D and Autodesk Revit using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model Reviews with Clients, Vendor and Sub Contractors.
Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
Good knowledge of the major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
Basic skills in oral and written communication.
Experience in preparing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and vendor print reviews for various electrical equipment
Knowledge of SPEL for preparation of load list, MCC schedule etc.
Experience in various electrical layouts like grounding, raceways and lighting etc.
