Job Description: Senior Petroleum Engineer / Geoscientist

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Petroleum Engineer / Geoscientist with a robust academic background and practical industry experience. The ideal candidate will bring significant expertise in petroleum engineering, geology, and drilling fluid technology, complemented by teaching and research experience. This individual will play a critical role in our team's operations and research initiatives, particularly in the areas of petroleum exploration, geology, and drilling fluid optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Research & Development:

• Lead advanced research initiatives, focusing on the development and characterization of cutting-edge drilling fluid formulations, especially in high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) conditions.
• Conduct laboratory and field-based research to optimize drilling fluid properties, including the development of sustainable solutions using nano-based catalysts and waste cooking oil-based drilling fluids.
• Engage in ongoing research projects, contributing to industry advancements and publishing papers in peer-reviewed journals.

1. Teaching & Academic Contribution:

• Deliver high-quality lectures and hands-on training in key petroleum engineering courses such as Petroleum Exploration, Petroleum Geology, Drilling Engineering, and Well Logging & Formation Evaluation.
• Develop and deliver engaging academic content, including lesson plans, presentations, and assessments.
• Mentor and guide students in their academic and research projects, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and support.
• Contribute to the development of curricula and academic programs within the institution.

1. Petroleum Engineering & Geology:

• Coordinate and supervise geological operations and drilling activities, ensuring all processes align with project specifications.
• Oversee borehole coordinate fixing, logging, sampling, and core analysis, ensuring quality assurance across all activities.
• Provide geological interpretation of data from exploration sites, leveraging software tools like SES 3D TSD Geo-steering, LogPlot, and other relevant petroleum engineering tools.
• Conduct detailed reservoir analysis and well logging to identify opportunities for improvement in oil and gas recovery.

1. Project Management:

• Manage and oversee large-scale geological and petroleum exploration projects, both domestically and internationally.
• Supervise and coordinate with local authorities, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports, including geological findings, drilling operations, exploration summaries, and feasibility studies.

1. Collaboration & Industry Engagement:

• Actively engage with key stakeholders in the oil and gas industry, contributing to the development and adoption of innovative drilling fluid technologies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in the energy sector to identify opportunities for technological advancement and process optimization.

1. Publication & Thought Leadership:

• Lead efforts in publishing research findings in international journals, contributing to the global knowledge base in petroleum engineering and drilling technology.
• Present research findings at conferences, symposiums, and industry events.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education:
• Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Geology, or a related field (currently pursuing or completed).
• M.Tech in Petroleum Exploration or a related field.
• B.Tech in Geo Science Engineering (O&G) or related discipline.
• Professional Experience:
• Minimum 11 years of combined experience in academic, industrial, and research roles within the petroleum engineering and geoscience sectors.
• Hands-on experience in petroleum exploration, drilling fluid formulation, and reservoir engineering.
• Experience in leading and managing geological field operations and drilling projects.
• Proven track record in research and development, with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in using petroleum engineering tools such as rheometers, viscometers, and HPHT filter presses.
• Expertise in geological software tools such as LogPlot, SES 3D TSD Geo-steering, and X-ray diffraction (XRD).
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in tools like Design Expert (RSM),OriginPro, and Crystal Impact Match (XRD).
• Familiarity with sustainable energy practices, specifically biofuels, transesterification, and nanotechnology.
