Job Description

A civil site engineer, also known as a site supervisor, project engineer, or construction engineer, is responsible for managing the technical aspects of a construction site. Their duties include:

Site management: Overseeing the construction site, including supervising workers and subcontractors
Technical advice: Providing technical advice to craftspeople, subcontractors, and operatives
Quality assurance: Ensuring that work and materials meet specifications and industry standards
Compliance: Ensuring that the project complies with local construction regulations and health and safety standards
Communication: Communicating with clients, architects, engineers, and other professionals
Project management: Managing the project budget, reviewing schedules, and reporting on progress
Documentation: Gathering data and writing reports
Inspections: Conducting preliminary inspections at potential construction sites
Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting technical difficulties
