As a CCTV Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CCTV systems in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments. Your primary goal will be to ensure the effective operation and functionality of surveillance systems to enhance security and provide a safe environment for clients.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Install and configure CCTV systems, including cameras, monitors, recording devices, and associated equipment.
Conduct site surveys to determine the most suitable camera placements and cable routing.
Mount cameras and run necessary cables, ensuring proper connectivity and adherence to industry standards. Set up and program DVRs, NVRs, and other recording devices to enable videorecording and remote viewing.
Test and adjust camera angles, focus, and zoom to optimize video quality and coverage.
Perform regular maintenance and inspections of CCTV systems, including cleaning cameras and checking for any signs of damage or malfunction.
Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues, such as camera malfunctions, video loss, or connectivity problems, and resolve them promptly.
Replace faulty or damaged equipment, including cameras, cables, connectors, or power supplies.
Keep accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in CCTV technology and security systems.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a CCTV Technician or a related field.
Knowledge of various CCTV equipment, including cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and associated components.
Familiarity with different camera types, such as analog, IP, dome, PTZ, and thermal cameras.
Proficiency in cable running, termination, and installation techniques.
Basic understanding of network protocols and IP configurations.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
