Essential Qualification

Post Graduate Degree (Full time course) in Psychiatry Nursing (Recognized by Indian Council of Nursing)
Valid INC registration.
Minimum 5 years clinical/teaching/ research experience in related field.

Desirable Qualification

Ph. D in the field of rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.Experience in working for persons with multiple disabilities

Age Limit

56 years

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The above consultant positions will be filled purely on contractual basis.
Engagement will be governed by the rules and regulations, terms and conditions of the engagement of the Institute presently in force or as may be framed, amended, altered or extended from time to time by the Ministry.
A fixed monthly amount shall be admissible and the remuneration may be regulated as per the terms and conditions of the contract. No other allowances will be admissible.
Annual increment @3% shall be allowed during the term of the contract.
Any other assignments given to be staff to be carried out time to time.
The HRD staff shall be assigned duties aimed towards the objectives of Institute and DEPWD at large
The selected candidates may be posted at NIEPMD (D),Chennai and its sub-centres/out-reach centres. However, they are liable to be transferred to offices anywhere in India under the administrative control of NIEPMD (D),Chennai.
The engagement of contractual staff can be terminated by the competent authority at any time without assigning any reasons thereof by giving 30 days notice. However, in case a Consultant/Contractual staff wishes to resign, he/she can resign by giving 30 days advance notice or remuneration in lieu thereof before resigning from the engagement.

National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan) established in the year 2005, on East Coast Road, Muttukadu, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, (about 30 km from Chennai Central railway station, Mofussil bus terminus) Under Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan),Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, to serve as a national resource center for empowerment of persons with Multiple Disabilities such as those with two or more disabilities in a person. The Disabilities enumerated as per RPWD Act (2016) are Blindness, Low-vision, Leprosy Cured persons, Hearing Impairment (deaf and hard of hearing),Locomotor Disability, Dwarfism, Intellectual Disability, Mental Illness, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Chronic Neurological conditions, Specific Learning Disabilities, Multiple Sclerosis, Speech and Language disability, Thalassemia, Hemophilia, Sickle Cell disease, Multiple Disabilities including deafblindness, Acid Attack victim, Parkinson's disease and as per The National Trust (1999) Act, are Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities.
