Job Description

Job Title: Area Sales Manager (ASM) - Mineral Water Brand

Location: Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh
Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager

Job Summary:

As an Area Sales Manager (ASM) for a leading mineral water brand in Lucknow, you will be responsible for managing and expanding sales operations in the assigned territory. Your primary goal is to achieve the sales targets, enhance brand visibility, and manage relationships with distributors, retailers, and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales Target Achievement:

    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve assigned sales targets within the territory.
    • Monitor and analyze sales performance, taking corrective actions as needed to ensure targets are met.
  • Market Expansion:

    • Identify and develop new business opportunities by expanding the distribution network.
    • Onboard new distributors and retailers to increase market penetration.
    • Explore and develop potential new markets within the territory.
  • Distributor & Retailer Management:

    • Maintain strong relationships with distributors and retailers, ensuring regular communication and support.
    • Monitor distributor performance, stock levels, and ensure timely payments and order fulfillment.
    • Address and resolve any issues related to product distribution or sales.
  • Brand Visibility & Promotion:

    • Execute promotional activities and campaigns to enhance brand visibility in the market.
    • Ensure proper placement and display of products in retail outlets.
    • Coordinate with the marketing team to implement brand-specific marketing initiatives.
  • Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales executives to achieve their individual and team sales targets.
    • Conduct regular training sessions to improve the sales skills of the team.
    • Monitor the performance of the sales team and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Market Intelligence:

    • Gather and analyze market data, including competitor activities, customer preferences, and market trends.
    • Provide insights and feedback to the management team for strategic decision-making.
  • Reporting & Documentation:

    • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, including sales performance, market analysis, and competitor activities.
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, distributor/retailer details, and other relevant information.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the FMCG sector or specifically in the bottled water/beverages industry.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a sales team.
  • Skills:
    • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to analyze data and market trends.
    • Proficiency in using sales management software and tools.
    • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
