Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling GST, assisting with tax preparation, and supporting your immediate senior and team members in delivering high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping:

    • Maintain and update financial records, including journals, ledgers, and general accounts.
    • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments/receipts.
    • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • GST Reconciliation:

    • Perform GST reconciliation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare and file GST returns accurately and timely.
    • Address and resolve any GST-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Tax Preparation:

    • Assist in the preparation of tax returns for individuals and businesses.
    • Gather and organize financial data required for tax filings.
    • Collaborate with senior staff to ensure all tax-related documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Provide support to immediate senior and team members in various tasks as needed.
    • Assist with client queries and provide timely responses.
    • Maintain organized and up-to-date records and files.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Previous experience in bookkeeping, GST reconciliation, and tax preparation is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with accounting software and tools (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) is desirable.
  • Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
