Description: We are
seeking a skilled 3D Artist with expertise in texturing to create detailed and
visually compelling textures for our 3D models. The ideal candidate will have
experience with Blender and a strong portfolio showcasing their ability to
texture assets in various styles and applications, including games, films, or
animations.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Texture Creation: Develop and apply
high-quality textures for 3D models using Blender’s texture painting and
material creation tools.
- UV Mapping: Efficiently UV unwrap 3D
models and ensure that textures are properly aligned and optimized.
- Material Setup: Create and manage complex
materials using Blender’s node-based shader system.
- Texture Optimization: Optimize textures for
performance while maintaining visual fidelity.
- Collaboration: Work closely with 3D
modelers, animators, and other artists to ensure textures align with
artistic direction and project requirements.
- Feedback and Revisions: Incorporate feedback from
art directors and other team members, making revisions as needed to meet
project standards.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed
documentation of texturing processes and setups to ensure consistency and
facilitate team collaboration.
Required
Skills:
- Proficiency in Blender: Strong experience with
Blender’s texturing and shading tools, including UV unwrapping, texture
painting, and shader creation.
- Artistic Skills: Excellent understanding of
color theory, texture mapping, and material properties.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to create
realistic and stylized textures with a high level of detail and
consistency.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving
skills, especially related to texture resolution and UV mapping
challenges.
- Portfolio: A well-organized portfolio
showcasing previous texturing work in Blender, including screenshots,
renders, or links to relevant projects.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience with Other Tools: Knowledge of additional
texturing or 3D software such as Substance Painter, Photoshop, or Mari.
- Understanding of Real-Time
Engines:
Familiarity with real-time rendering engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Experience: Previous experience in a
similar role within game development, animation, or VFX industries.
Education
and Experience:
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Art,
Computer Graphics, or a related field.
Experience: 2+ Years of professional experience in 3D texturing
or a related role
