Position Summary:The Video Editor is responsible for editing and producing high-quality video content for various platforms. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of video editing techniques, excellent storytelling skills, and proficiency in video editing software. The Video Editor will collaborate closely with the creative team to bring concepts to life and ensure that the final videos meet the desired objectives.
Key Position Accountabilities:
Video Making Ideation: Collaborate with the pre-production team to develop creative video concepts and ideas that align with project objectives and client requirements.Planning the Editing Approach: Work with the pre-production team to plan the editing approach for video projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and capturing the desired tone and atmosphere.Inputs on Editing Perspective: Provide valuable insights and suggestions to the production team regarding technical aspects such as camera angles, shot composition, and visual effects.Backup Storage: Ensure the secure storage of video footage for future reference and editing purposes.Organizing Folders: Organize video clips into separate folders based on scenes or locations to facilitate efficient editing and retrieval.Shot Decision List: Analyze shooting scripts and raw footage to create a shot decision list that effectively communicates the desired message.Trimming Footage: Edit and trim video footage to remove unwanted content and optimize pacing.Audio Editing: Find suitable music tracks and sound effects for videos, and edit audio accordingly.Rough Cut Development: Develop rough-cut versions of video projects for client review and approval.Color Correction: Apply color correction techniques to enhance the mood and emotion of videos.Finalizing Videos: Collaborate with the production team and clients to incorporate feedback and finalize videos.Education, Experience, Training, and Special Skills:
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor or similar role.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.
- Strong understanding of video composition, color grading, and audio mixing.
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Studies, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience as a Video Editor.
