Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.
Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.
Follows all safety policies, procedures and programs; is responsible for individual safety and the safety of others
Assist design team in verifying the accuracy of tooling dimensions and drawings
Recommend changes and modifications to improve quality and reduce cost
Determine process to be used in the machining of tooling
Operate, maintain, and calibrate equipment in a safe manner
Fabricate prototype tooling for production trials
Produce tooling efficiently according to design specifications and functional requirements
Assemble completed tooling and ensure functionality matches design
Inspect and test tooling to ensure customer satisfaction
Repair damaged tooling
Troubleshoot tooling problems with other departments and plants
Collaborate with cross functional groups to design and build machinery to meet customer specifications
Create jigs, fixtures, and other items used to produce tooling
Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace
Perform other related duties as assigned
